Door To Door
Churches wonder why the church is such a sad state of apostasy and are failing the great commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Amongst the many things that are wrong, a big problem is the lack of compassion for the lost and a desire to compel them to come to the house of Lord (Luke 14:23). So being faithful servants that is what we did and had a great day going door to door with brother Jeremy, the weather was perfect to be able to witness and share the gospel. We ran into all types today. We had the Southern Baptist whose wife (American Baptist) is an “ordained” pastoress, this is of course unscriptural 1Timothy 2:12. This was followed up by the neighbor who was also “Baptist”, but I noticed an empty beverage can that would testify otherwise. Then there was the plethora Catholics, who of course are hoping for eternal security, even though the scriptures say they can know (1John 5:13). Then there was the Christians who were helping out a friend. WE had the opportunity to invite them to church and right as we were finishing up with this father and son, their fiend fired up his lawn mower (a clear indication he wanted no part in a spiritual discussion). Then as we got to the last house on the street, the Lord blessed as we had an opportunity to share the gospel with a nice woman, who had made a promise to a patient of hers to read the bible. I stated that it was of no coincidence that we were there sharing the gospel. Though we did not see any professions of faith, we did plant and water the precious seed of God’s word this afternoon. All we can do is waiting for God give the increase (1Corinthaisns 3:6).
